Lasalle-Go | Exchange Program

French Class Goes to France via Skype

In preparation for our upcoming Lasalle-Go exchange with Lycée Sainte Jeanne d’Arc , a Lasallian school located in Paray-le-Monial in Burgundy France, twelve participants from Madame Bouldt and Engering Ward’s French classes met early Thursday morning for a Skype conversation with our French exchange student.
According to exchange organizer Madame Boudlt, “ the session began with lots of enthusiasm, smiles, giggles in French and English as all were part of the conversation. The students from both sides of the ocean have been following each other on Instagram and Twitter since December and are super excited about their exchange visit.”

The twelve French students and three chaperons will arrive in Napa in just a couple weeks and stay with host families for 10 days. While in Napa the students will attend classes and get a taste of what it is like to be a Brave. Their host families have planned many cultural activities and visits around the Bay Area, as well as family gatherings. For most French students this is their first visit to the U.S. and they are thrilled. In April, Justin-Siena students will travel to France and stay with the families of our visitors and attend classes at Lycée Sainte Jeanne d’Arc. This program is a wonderful example of the power of our global Lasallian network that we can immerse ourselves in different cultures and visit new places while celebrating our shared Lasallian story.
