This will be accomplished through an intensive study of the current California Drivers Handbook using a curriculum that offers vocabulary review quizzes and tests. In addition, the student will be exposed to several “behind the wheel” video lessons that will connect the theory to practice thereby preparing them mentally for when they do begin their driving lessons. Also, in order to further educate our drives, we will have guest speakers to teach students about the basics of operating a vehicle. Topics will include how to check and add oil, how to change a tire, what is insurance and why do we need it, safety tips from the CHP, why distracted driving is so bad, what information to give out in case of an accident, and many more! Finally, the students will be challenged by real-life stories from teens that learned the hard way about the hazards, dangers, and privilege it is to drive a motor vehicle.
