Lasalle-Go | Exchange Program

Lasalle–Go Meets Escargot!

During Easter Break, eleven Justin-Siena French students traveled to France to meet up with the students they had hosted back in February to complete the circle of year-two of our Lasallian exchange program, LasalleGo.
According to Madame Boudlt who accompanied her students, “It was quite a grand welcome we received when we got off the bus from Charles De Gaulle Airport; Justin-Siena signs, welcome songs, tears, laughter, and lots of warm hugs.”

The students lived with their host families for ten days and were treated to real French experiences. They toured the beautiful Burgundian country side and visited La Belle France. From Paris to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Lyon, Dijon, Vichy, and much more. “An experience they are not likely to ever forget,” remarked Madame Boudlt.

“My trip to France was very exciting. I was able to immerse myself into a new culture and language. I also met many other students and learned new things about the language. I got to visit Paris, Lyon, Dijon, and the Abbey of Cluny along with all the other American exchange students. Out of everything we did my favorite event was getting to try escargots.” –Sophia Craig ’20

“I had an amazing experience in France. I loved my host family. They were welcoming and helped me learn so much. They really wanted to show me as much as they could in such a short time. I got the chance to go to the south; Nice, Monaco, and Cannes. As well as Paris. I would go back any day!” – Julia Best ’21

“This trip not only improved my understanding of French but also broadened my perspective of other cultures, and opened my eyes to just how wide the world is. I am so grateful to have been able to experience this and create such a close friendship with my correspondent. I am confident that we will remain in contact and even visit each other again, which is something I am so excited for in the future. I would recommend an exchange to anyone wanting to branch out of their comfort zone and grow as a person.” – Sarah Pyrce ’21

“This trip to France was super fun and it was an amazing way to improve my French while experiencing a new culture. Staying with a host family really allows you to get immersed in the language and see the country from a local’s point of view. I hope to stay in contact with my correspondent and visit her again in the future. I would highly recommend this trip!” – Devon Carlson ’21

“The trip to France was truly a once in a lifetime experience and helped my French improve a lot. Being immersed into their culture and having to speak French added to my knowledge that I already had. It was so much fun to travel to different parts of France with our host families and make new friends who I will remember for my whole life. – Lexi Rosenbrand ’21

“This trip was such an amazing experience and it helped me improve my French. I’m so glad I was able to go because it allowed me to learn a lot about another culture.” –Lili Galambos ’21
