A Lasallian Exchange in France
During the first week of November, five French students from Madame Bouldt’s junior class had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Burgundy France and attend classes in a Lasallian French high school, Lycée Sainte Jeanne d’Arc.
The students served as Justin-Siena ambassadors and experienced first-hand what it is like to be a student in a French school. They lived in dormitories, ate in the school cafeteria, and sat in classes where they had the opportunity to test their French speaking and comprehension. They did great! The teachers were very complimentary of their speaking skills, their willingness to participate in class discussions, and their awareness on a variety of topics. The students also toured the cities and museums of Lyon and Dijon and ended with a whirlwind day of walking around beautiful Paris.
Our inaugural exchange students were Olivia Boles, Alegra Negrete, Daniela Villasenior, Connor Havlek, and Juan Mora. Lycée Sainte Jeanne d’Arc is located in the heart of Burgundy in the beautiful and saintly little community of Paray-Le-Monial.

This trip marks the beginning of a Lasallian school-to-school academic exchange. Madame Bouldt and Mrs. Caroline Gerlomes ‘79 accompanied the students and discussed the preliminary guidelines for future annual exchanges with school dignitaries. Justin-Siena is looking forward to welcoming a small group of teachers and students from Paray-Le-Monial in February.
