Spotlight on College Counseling

Our college counselors are always hard at work finding the "right fit" for our students as they move on from Justin-Siena.
Naviance:
Naviance, is a web-based service designed especially for students and families. Starting with the help of the counselors and advisors during freshman year, it is a comprehensive website you can use to help make your decisions about colleges. It is the main college application tracking and organizing tool for our school. Naviance is divided into three major areas: “About Me”, “Colleges”, and “Careers”.

In the “About Me” section, you are able to edit personal information and
start a game plan for post secondary plans. You can also create a resume and track your test scores. For the Colleges section, you begin to research colleges, find your fit, and do virtual college tours. You can also view scattergrams with student scores and GPAs on a graph. This is a great way to compare colleges, view acceptance history, review schedules of upcoming college rep visits, and search for scholarship and aid opportunities. As for Careers, you can take an Interest Inventory by the Holland code and explore careers and pathways.

Naviance is partnered with Common Application, Edocs, and Parchment which allows us to submit all school materials ( transcripts, letters of recommendation, school profile) online to over 1,000 colleges.

College Rep Visits
Approximately 100 colleges and universities send representatives to visit the Justin-Siena campus. Often, the representative who comes to visit the high school is the same person who will be reviewing the submitted application.

Mock Test Prep Exams
Justin-Siena has a partnership with the private test preparation company, Revolution Prep. Through Revolution Prep, we offer two Mock SAT and two Mock ACT exams- this is a great way for students to familiarize themselves with the test, without receiving a permanent test score.
