Rising Team Captain for the 2018-19 year, Dante Cavaz ’19, and team member and publicist, Juan Mora ’19, will share some remarks before introducing Senator Dodd who will also share some remarks and make the awards presentation.

Attorney Coach Bill Hardy, as well as some alumni team members, will be in attendance along with faculty and staff members and current students and their parents.

Congratulations to the Justin-Siena Mock Trial team who recently returned from the State competitions in Orange County as the most decorated team in Napa County.

Our 5-time Napa champion Mock Trial team was awarded the J. Skelly Constitutional Advocacy Award for Defense Pre-Trial, Taylor Stiffler ’18, and Outstanding Witnesses Award for Defense Witness, Lauren Aubert ’20. Justin-Siena Mock Trial would like to thank all of those who have supported the program. Without your help, none of our achievements would be possible.

Looking forward, Justin-Siena Mock Trial prepares for the 1-on-1 Mock Trial World Championships in Los Angeles to take place in mid-July. In addition, Justin-Siena Mock Trial has a smaller, elite 14-person team of veterans that will take part in additional intensive competitions over the summer. The Gladiator World Championship takes about 40 students from around the world to compete as a Defense Attorney, Defense Witness, Prosecution Attorney, and Prosecution Witness. Students have roughly 3-4 weeks to prepare a Defense and Prosecution case. This elite team, being coined, “Omega Team,” will also be participating in Empire San Francisco: Battle of the Bay. This competition will take place in San Francisco in mid-October. Both Gladiator and Empire are completely new and different cases written by Bar Associations and Mock Trial Coach Veterans Thom Scher and Justin Bernstein. 

Braves serving on Omega Team are Katherine Booska, Dante Cavaz, Emily Han, Lexi DeLeuze, Mary Cate Hyde, Whitney Powers, Connor Havlek, Sumir Hayer, Esther Cottrell, Isabel Parrado, Juan Carlos Mora, and Liam Mulcahy.
