Justin-Siena has received the distinction of being a 2017-2018 Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished High School.
Justin-Siena has received the distinction of being a 2017-2018 Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished High School. The distinction honors Justin-Siena’s Engineering Department for providing access to STEM education to students from diverse academic backgrounds, for a high rate of student engagement, and for student academic achievement in the 2016-2017 school year. PLTW is a national STEM education program that provides a curriculum for hands-on, experiential learning, as well as teacher training and resources. Of the over 10,500 schools participating in PLTW programs, Justin-Siena is one of only 122 high schools to receive this distinction. In 2016-17, 87 students took PLTW engineering classes at Justin-Siena with a 100% pass rate on the End of Course Exams. The Justin-Siena Engineering Department offers the following courses: Introduction to Engineering Design in which students master AutoCAD software, Principles of Engineering which introduces several engineering fields including robotics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and AP® Computer Science Principles.
