Girls and Boys Basketball in the Hunt for Playoff Berths
Both MCAL and NCS Playoffs in Sight
Braves basketball moves into the stretch run of the season with great optimism. The girls currently stand at 9-11 and 4-4 in MCAL, while the boys are 12-8 and 4-4 in the MCAL.
The top six finishers in the MCAL qualify for the MCAL playoffs. The first round sees the # 1 and # 2 seeds with byes, while # 6 visits # 3 and # 5 visits # 4. The winners advance to the semi-finals to be held at Redwood High School. The semi-final winners advance to the Championship game - also held at Redwood High School.
NCS qualifying has the following criteria: A team has three basic ways to earn a berth: OVERALL RECORD, RECORD VS DIVISION IV OPPONENTS, MCAL RECORD, if any of these are .500 or better a team is qualified. The NCS then seeds up to 16 qualified teams in the D-IV bracket.
