FROM OCTOBER 24 THROUGH 28, SCHOOLS ALL AROUND THE UNITED STATES ARE CELEBRATING RED RIBBON WEEK. The first red ribbon week campaign was founded in 1988 after a drug enforcement officer, Enrique Camarena, was tortured and killed working undercover in Mexico trying to fight a major drug cartel.  He took the job because he wanted to make a difference in the world.  People all over the country celebrate this week not only to remember Enrique, but to continue the fight against illegal use of drugs and alcohol.  Wear your red ribbon this week and join the fight.  Respect yourself be drug free.  Ribbons are available from your religion teachers, the Gasser Center, and the CBC. Red stars are around campus with names of students and faculty who have agreed to respect themselves and stay drug free.  If you would like to sign a star, come to the attendance office sometime today and pledge to be drug free.
