Braves Report: January 7 2019

Winter sports head into the thick of VVAL play
Girls Basketball: Stayed hot by beating Petaluma on the road Saturday night 50-47.  The win was the team's 7th in their last 8 contests and puts them at 10-6 overall and 3-0 in the VVAL heading into a road showdown against the Sonoma Dragons  Against Petaluma senior Ashlee Whittemore tied a career high with 36 points and she is averaging 19.9 points on the season.  

Boys Basketball:  The Boys Varsity Basketball team won 3 of their last 5 games to improve to 10-6 overall. They are still trying to find their stride in league as they are currently 0-3 but will look to get their first VVAL win on Wednesday, January 9th on the road at Sonoma Valley. Tip-off is at 7pm. On Saturday they will play a non-conference game at home against Gateway High School at 1:30pm. 

Wrestling Staying busy over the break the young wrestling Braves nearly pulled off an upset over VVAL foe Napa last week.  The team jumped out to a 30-0 lead with strong showings in the lightweight classes before succumbing to a final of 48-33.  Scoring for the Braves were Sebastian Medina (106 lb), Cooper Cohee (113), Jacob Guiducci (120), Caden Parlett (126), Zacky Zurowski (132) and Tommy Lopez (145).   

Girls Soccer Improved to 1-1-1 in VVAL play with a 5-0 home rout over Napa.  The girls look to build on the positive momentum Wednesday when they travel to Sonoma.  

Boys Soccer Dropped a narrow 2-0 decision to Napa over the break.  They have a busy week ahead with 3 VVAL games scheduled.
