How did you get to JS?
I actually began my high school career at Armijo High. ....College:
Point Park UniversityWhat do you plan to study?
musical theatre What is your favorite class at JS?
Theatre is my favorite class because it's a non traditional course that allows me to break away from math, science, etc. and really do what I love on a consistent basis. The class is fun, Mr. Bailey is a phenomenal teacher, and the lessons we learn in class apply not only to the stage but also to our everyday life. I would recommend the class to anyone at the school (even if they aren't theatre people). Through theatre I have really been able to gain more comfortability and confidence with myself and others, and I've really been able to bloom as an actress and a student. Co-curricular Involvement at JS:
theater, choir, Comedy Sportz, and Kairos leader What is your favorite JS memory?
The homecoming bonfire was unbelievable! The entire school gathered to dance, sing, and cheer on each other. It was the first time I had seen the entire school filled with that much school spirit and love for each other. It was a great representation of our All Heart identity. During the bonfire I felt the greatest sense of belonging that I had every felt, and just wanted to give everyone hugs! It was AWESOME!
Advice for JS Students:
Small classes, lots of attention from teachers and counselors, and most importantly, the sense of community and love is very strong and real. No student is left out or alienated, and every student has the opportunity to make their voice heard. The administration is very caring, and the school as a whole is just a beautiful place to be.
Try EVERYTHING. Just do it. Don't be freaked out. Just try new things and you'll find your niche. The first weeks are hard, but it WILL get better, and you WILL find you people. So, until you do, just keep swimming.
