What was your favorite class at JS?
I love dance because of how much I have been able to grow in terms of my creativity. I have been able to test the limits as far as how I can lead and how I can create a piece of choreography. Also, the class is more than just dance but learning about how to grow in confidence and be able to present something you have created to people. It is rigorous in the mind and body.
Co-curricular Involvement at JS:
dance, dance club, and Kairos retreat leader
Where would you find me on campus?
I can be found either in the red couches in the Lasallian Student Life room or choreographing in Siena Hall.
What is your favorite JS memory?
Before our 2015 homecoming rally, each class was waiting to enter Clark Gym, and our class was incredibly spirited, far louder than any other class yelling and chanting waiting for our turn. It was a symbol of this community in that moment because we all had the same amount of spirit and passion for our school. It was honestly a feeling I can't describe in words; we all were proud of who we are and our identity as a class and a school.
This is a place of opportunity. If you want to gather the skills to continue smoothly on to college, Justin is the clear choice. Not only does this school have amazing academics, we have an amazing, growing school spirit. Going to football or basketball games are all such a blast because of the community. Coming to Justin is entering a community filled with people who all want to and want you to succeed. Someone is always there to help you in your hard times, from faculty to other students, and there are incredible resources to help you grow.
Also, students are always heard. I cannot tell you the number of times I was able to speak to adults, such as Mr. Bordelon, on things I feel would improve the school, and they have listened to me. Justin-Siena is a home to help you grow and succeed later, and in my four years, I have seen myself grow into a leader.
Advice for JS Students:
Please take advantage of any and every opportunity you receive at Justin-Siena. Go to the dances, do the musical, play a sport, take an art class, go to games, and participate in clubs. High school is what you make of it and by being invested in your school you will leave loving how you had done as much as you possibly could.
