Parent Seminar

Gasser Center
All Justin-Siena parents are invited to a seminar discussion about “The Case for and Against Homework,” by Robert Marzano and Debra Pickering.  In this article, Marzano and Pickering summarize research on both the quality and quantity of homework.

Join Principal John Bordelon, Vice Principal Heidi Harrison, and members of the Justin-Siena faculty to discuss the article’s conclusions and recommendations, as well as implications for instruction and student learning at Justin-Siena in light of research on the brain and learning.  The Justin-Siena faculty have recently read this article and are clarifying their own practices to ensure that assignments both inside and outside of class are meaningful, challenging, and effective at facilitating student mastery of content and skills.

Discussion questions will be posted on the Parent Seminar Group on Schoology.  If you have not yet joined the Schoology group, please
