LITURGY: "THE WORK OF THE PEOPLE"

Liturgy is the highest moment of prayer and purpose for Catholic Christians. It is the primary setting where God and people come together for the good of the whole world.

As a faith community we begin each new day in prayer over the Public Address System. All pause for prayer at this time.  We have a tradition of ending all times of prayer calling upon the intercession of the founders of our rich heritage: St. John Baptist De La Salle, St. Catherine of Siena, and Brother Justin McMahon.

We also join together monthly as a whole school for prayer or Eucharist. There are multiple ministries for students who feel called to participate. ” Students are invited to be lectors, eucharistic ministers, and altar servers.

The Greek word liturgia means "work of the people." Liturgy is "the work of the people in the name of God for the people." In the spirit of the Second Vatican Council we strive to grow as a community in “full, conscious, and active participation." Religion Teachers do liturgical catechesis and prepare their students spiritually for each liturgy.
