Current Scholarships 2009-2010

 

The College Counseling Center receives announcements for local, regional, state and national scholarship.  Scholarship information can be found in the College Counseling Center and on the Family Connection website.   These scholarships require individual applications and have various deadlines. 

The Justin-Siena High School Community-based Scholarship application will become available SPRING SEMESTER. This is one common application used to determine eligibility to over 60 scholarships sponsored by local businesses, organizations and individuals.

Criteria

Active 20-30 Club

Boy or Girl, B average or better, going to a 4 year college; with some need, Napa                 County resident. Club reviews 3-5 application forms from Justin-Siena. The Napa Active 20-30 Club has a scholarship committee and would like to select the recipient of our scholarship.

American Legion Auxiliary Napa Unit #113 Scholarship

Napa County resident; upholds the principles of the American Legion Auxiliary; Immediate family member must have served in the US Military. Selection made by the Auxiliary, traditionally the first alternate for Girls State.

Brother Daniel O’Connor Memorial Scholarship

2.0 or above GPA; prefer a track & cross country athlete; furthering their education (2 or 4 year college)

Byron’s Inc. Auto Body Scholarship

Academics; Honor Roll; Community Service.

California Scholarship Federation

Must be an active member of CSF

Community Projects, Inc. Memorial Scholarships

US Citizen; Napa County Resident; attending a 4 year college; financial need; service to community and school; and selection made by school.

Damian Maldonado Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student that has a love of sports, travel and community service as Damian did.

Don Sebastiani and Sons Scholarship

Graduate of Sonoma County.

Henry Lew Memorial Scholarship

Graduating senior who plans to attend a college or university and study in a computer related field such as computer science or engineering; financial need; the awardee should exhibit a potential to succeed in life; be very skilled and interested in computers; exhibits a willingness to help others understand and use computers; this individual should have a positive outlook on life, a good sense of humor, and be an independent thinker.

John Biale Memorial Scholarship

2.5 GPA; active in school and community; college bound; if two equal students – award the student with greater need or not receiving any other award

Julian Weidler Business Scholarship

Graduating senior who plans to study business administration, economics or a closely related field at a four year college or university; 3.0 GPA or above; and demonstrated leadership potential.

Justin-Siena Key Club Scholarship

Member of Key and Interact Club, active in community

Kathleen Frances Springer Memorial Scholarship

Student who’s life represents the spirit of Kathleen; exemplifying Christian values; and active in the school community

Kiwanis Club of Greater Napa Scholarships

ART STEWART MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (male student) and BRENT GULARTE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP (female student):  4 year college; good academics; good citizenship, active in school leadership; and Napa County resident.

Kiwanis Club of Napa

Continuing education in an institution of higher learning; minimum GPA of 3.30; leadership abilities in school and community service activities; Napa county resident; Key Club Participation or being the child of a Napa Kiwanis member will be given priority; service to school and community. One of the three scholarships must be awarded to a Key Club member.

Matt Holm Memorial Scholarship

Boy or Girl; B average or better; going to a 4 year college; with some need.

Napa County Bar Association Scholarship in Memory of Damian Maldonado

GPA of 3.4 or higher; demonstrates excellent leadership in school/extracurricular activities; heading for a two or four-year college; participation in Mock Trial or Peer Court but not required; participation in community service activities, preferred but not required; and expressed interest in the legal profession or law and order preferred, but not required.

Napa Chamber of Commerce – Ross Game Business Scholarship

Student must be planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university; student must plans to major in business; student must show leadership in community service. Justin-Siena shall screen applicants and provide the Napa Chamber of Commerce with 5-7 applications for consideration.

Napa Engineer’s Society Insogna Memorial Scholarship

Napa County resident; US Citizen; transferring engineering major, preferably civil engineering; High School Scholastic Achievement (3.3 or higher); financial need; community service.

Napa Parlor No. 62, Native Sons of the Golden West Scholarship

Two scholarship for graduating student born in California; one vocational student and one liberal arts student; 2.2 to 3.0 GPA. One male and one female.

Napa Valley College Foundation Scholarship

A student must show financial need; must have overcome adversity in his/her life.

Napa Valley Horsemen’s Association Scholarship

Awarded to a boy or girl; entering a 4year college or a 2 year accredited college in anticipation of entering a 4 year program; to be used for a student of Animal Husbandry and/or Veterinary Medicine. (If selection can not be made in this field, the following should be followed: related agricultural field, including forestry, active in FFA or 4H; or active in the Napa Valley Junior Horsemen’s.

Napa Valley Marathon Scholarship

 

1 male and 1 female well rounded senior planning on continuing there education; participated in cross country or track one to four years; minimum GPA 2.5; leader

on the team; plans to continue this activity in college

 

National Honors Society

Involvement in club; participation in all National Honors Society activities; demonstration of exemplary service, leadership and character.

Paul Frederick Sheffer Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student who plans to attend a four-year college; preferable with an interest in Social Studies; 3.2 GPA; Student Council member or school officer; practicing Catholic.

Presentation School Scholarship

Graduating senior; Sonoma County resident; and attended the Presentation School.

Richard Janese Memorial Scholarship

A graduating student with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, who is an active participant in service learning, and who has participated in two or more co-curricular activities. Financial need is to be considered.

Shannon Lemieux Memorial Arts Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior who displays qualities of being a well rounded, hard working student; emphasis may be placed on participation in artistic activities at school or in the community especially participation in Dance and /or involvement in Parish/Church.

Solano-Napa Builders Exchange

Graduating senior who plans a continued education at a vocational college, community college, college/university with a program focus on construction management, construction related engineering and architecture; with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to those students whose immediate family are members of the Solano-Napa Builders Exchange.

Sonoma Index-Tribune Scholarship

Senior for Sonoma area going on for higher education.

Stiling Vineyards Scholarship

Resident of Solano County at the time of graduation; continuing with higher education; minimum 2.75 GPA; meets Justin-Siena conduct and citizenship standards; and completes the CBCS application.

Team Superstores Student Athlete Scholarship

Varsity athlete; 2.5 GPA; must complete the Justin-Siena Community-Based College Scholarship Application.

The Alex H. Urban Award for Theatrical Excellence

Candidate Qualifications Include: A young man, participation in a minimum of two out of three Justin-Siena Theatre productions their senior year; A display of strong leadership within the Justin-Siena Theatre community; The embodiment of the eight keys to success as outlined in the Justin-Siena Theatre mission statement.

Recommendation from current JSHS Theatre Director. Outstanding performance (on or off stage) in at least one JST production each year prior to his senior year.

Todd & Kelly Decker Award for Theatrical Excellence

Candidate Qualifications Include: A young women, participation in a minimum of two out of three Justin-Siena Theatre productions their senior year; A display of strong leadership within the Justin-Siena Theatre community; The embodiment of the eight keys to success as outlined in the Justin-Siena Theatre mission statement. Rotary of Napa (Napa Noon Time)

Criteria: Graduating senior going on to college with need; has been active in community service; good citizenship; may not be son, daughter of close relative of a member of the Rotary Club.
