The Justin-Siena Dance Department, known for its dazzling and innovative dance productions, will once again be bringing the unexpected to the stage. After delivering blockbusters such as last year’s fairytale themed SPELLBOUND and DECADES OF DANCE before that, this group of young dancers will be bringing visual art to life. This vision of acclaimed dance instructor and choreographer Lisa Clark Schmeling, titled DANCE ART, promises to breathe new life into world renowned masterpiece paintings such as da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Monet’s Impression Sunrise, van Gogh’s Starry Night as well as many other pieces by master painters such as Botticelli, Renoir, Matisse, Picasso, Dali, and Klimt.

Veteran audience members would all agree that Justin-Siena dance productions deliver imaginative and innovative interpretations that are fresh and inspired.   Although this production will include 19th century painter Edgar Dégas, famous for painting Parisian dancers, Clark Schmeling wanted to avoid the obvious translations of paintings we have come to know and love. If you have ever wondered how water lilies, melted clocks, and the Girl with the Pearl Earring dance, you definitely do not want to miss this show. Musical selections will feature the sounds of artists such as David Bowie, Prince, and Macklemore alongside some of the classical standards of Beethoven and Mozart.

Included in this show will be artist and Napa resident Margaret Keane who is the main focus of the 2014 biographical film "BIG EYES." Don’t miss this expose of art in motion.
