Young Engineers at State Finals

Jordan Bowman-Davis ’19, Mia Vlaming ’19, and Deven Bose ’19 represented Justin-Siena in the Project Lead the Way Chevron Design Challenge State Finals.
The contest challenges teams of three students to begin the day at 8:00 am with a surprise design brief, and to finish the day at 3:00 pm with a creative, original design. During that time they develop solutions, sketch ideas, completely 3-D model their idea using CAD software, fully dimension the model, and prepare a sales presentation for a panel of engineer judges.

This particular design required them to design an educational toy for their choice of ages from 0-12. The toy was required to use an iPad in a significant way as the “brain” of the toy. They could use the sensors and interactive capability of the iPad, but the iPad is only one part of the overall toy.

The Justin-Siena designers came up with a toddler walker and play station with interactive capability for ages 6-months to 5-years. Buttons and lights on the toy would be fully integrated with iPad software for a variety of games and capabilities.

Way to go Braves!
